If you are a wine sales rep or a wholesale manager, here’s a little secret: today is one of the best days of the year to visit unsold or unopened restaurant accounts.
Why? Because today the retailers are so busy they don’t want to see you. And your solid on-premise accounts will see quite a bit of you in the next five weeks as you go out for the holiday season.
Most restaurants are going to have a slow lunch today followed by a pretty good dinner shift. That means managers and owners and buyers are going to be hanging around.
Stop by. Say hi. Establish connection. You have until the end of the year to really make a sales pitch, then you can go into January with a new account under your belt.
